Because those first weeks are beautiful, exhausting, and everything in between.
After a woman has a baby, not only is her body healing, but she’s completely focused on her baby’s needs and comfort — and sometimes her own needs get set aside. It’s a beautiful, all-consuming, sacred time. But it’s also very depleting. Learning new routines while sleep-deprived is its own kind of challenge.
After each of my four babies were born, I discovered new items that I wish I had known about with the baby before. Some made my new life a tiny bit calmer, some brought comfort to my own healing body, and some were just… enjoyable. Something to look forward to during the long days and even longer nights.
